TWG Assignment: Border Patrol and Water Safety

Spottedpaw purred as Brackensoul gave her and Heavypaw permission to play. They had just finished patrolling the border with Dawnclan, and as far as the calico she-cat could tell, everything was fine: She had even caught a mouse.

Dropping her prey, she headed over to some rocks where she and the younger brown tom could play, and began happily tumbling with him as their mentors watched.



A few days later, the Pebbleclan apprentice and her mentor were going over water safety at the river.

"You must be careful," Quickwind meowed. "You must always make sure that when you're crossing a river or something, you choose the shallow part of the river. How can you tell what part of the river is the shallow part?" The gray and white tom asked, stepping into the water.

Spottedpaw followed as she answered, "You can see the bottom of the river in shallow water. In deeper water, you can't, and the water is darker."

Quickwind nodded and began heading into deeper water. "When you're in deeper water, remember to keep your head above water, so you don't drown."

The calico apprentice meowed her understanding as she followed her mentor, glad she knew how to swim.
